Endurance Real Estate Group started construction of a 1,078,200-square-foot distribution building at 140 Industrial Dr. in Pittston.
Known as Interstate Distribution Center, the 225-acre development is located in the heart of the I-81 Corridor industrial submarket.
Endurance pursued approvals to demolish the existing structures on the site and transform the site into a modern bulk warehouse/distribution park. The company was recently granted approval from Jenkins Township to proceed with the first phase of its development plan, which includes the construction of the distribution building and an additional 125,125-square-foot facility.
The second phase of development includes a third building on the northern part of the site anticipated to be around 500,000 square feet.
The new building will offer 40-foot clear heights, a cross-dock configuration with two 75-foot speed bays, 54 feet wide by 45 feet deep column spacing, 193 dock doors including 108 with dock packages upon building completion, two drive-in doors, 421 car parking space , a 195-foot-deep truck court with 60-foot dock aprons and 129 truck parking spaces. The building will be constructed with precast concrete panels on a seven-inch thick concrete slab.
Construction of the distribution building is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2019.
