Work begins on $520K pipeline upgrade project in Lower Makefield

Pennsylvania-American Water Co. has started construction to replace aging water mains in Lower Makefield to improve service reliability and prevent water outages, Bucks Local News reported.

The project, which is estimated to cost nearly $520,000, will replace outdated pipe dating back to the 1950s.

Pennsylvania-American Water will install approximately 2,000 feet of new eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Taylorsville Road between Dolington Road and Highland Drive.

The company expects to complete the new main installation, testing and disinfection, and connecting customers’ service lines to the new main by the end of September.

Final paving restoration will be performed by PENNDoT later this year.
