Plan approved for construction of 12 apartments in Allentown

The Allentown Planning Commission has approved a plan by developer Alex Wright to convert a former social hall in Allentown into 12 apartments with a rooftop green space, reported The Morning Call.

The proposal, dubbed Riverview Lofts, calls for the former Slovak club at 114 Allen St. to be transformed into apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms.

According to the proposal, upstairs apartments will overlook a green space with plants and space for pets that would be available to residents. The building is also slated to include a fitness center and a juice bar for tenants.

The commission voted 4-0 to recommend the plans to the city’s Zoning Hearing Board, which will have to approve the project before construction can begin.
