IRIS USA, a manufacturer of plastic storage containers and pet products, has broken ground on a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Hazle Township of Luzerne County.
The company is investing more than $84 million into the 500,000-sq.-ft. facility along Commerce Dr. in Humboldt Industrial Park East.
In a press statement, IRIS said that it has chosen “the Luzerne County area for its abundant workforce and geographic location in order to strengthen production efficiencies and supply channels through ecommerce distribution.”
Construction is expected to begin in late 2018 with completion by early 2020.
