The Altoona Mobile Emergency Department (AMED) is upgrading its Lakemont Park station.
The development will feature a training facility, administrative offices and a new EMS station, WJAC reports, citing AMED executive director Gary Watters.
The new Lakemont station will give AMED a much larger facility and house administration. The project is expected to complete in May 2020.
Watters expects the new station to help AMED serve the area for the next 50 years or more, according to the report.
