Corey Associates to build new building in Pike County

Corey Associates, a maker of wiring systems for the medical, automotive, and defense industries, is expanding its facility in Greene Township, Pike County. The project will support the creation and retention of 60 jobs in the area, the company said in a statement.

The project calls the construction of a new 3,500-sq.-ft. building at its Greene Township manufacturing facility, and the purchase of machinery and equipment to expand production.

The company plans to invest $690,000 into the project, which is expected to create 24 new, full-time jobs and retain 36 existing jobs over the next three years.

Corey received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development for a $50,000 Pennsylvania First grant, $24,000 in job creation tax credits to be distributed upon the creation of new jobs, and a $17,850 workforce development grant to help the company train its existing workers. The company was also encouraged to apply for a $400,000 low-interest loan through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.
